so on the bus this morning
we stop at a red light and this lady gets off
she goes about half a block down, and then we saw her freeze and run after the bus
SHE FORGOT HER ENTIRE BABY ON THE BUS

I love the use of the word entire as in she could have just left the leg of the baby but no she left the whole baby
Ok so today I was on the bus with another trans guy and we were talking about how hard it is to get testosterone. The waiting lists, the price, all the doctors you have to go to, that kind of stuff. Except, we were calling it ’T’, like you do when you’re both closeted and in public.
Then suddenly the elderly lady sitting behind us was like ‘young men, either I’m going crazy or you both have never heard of supermarkets, they have shelves full of tea there! Do you need directions to one?’
To which my buddy starts to explain, because why not. ‘Well you see, we’re both trans, and… ’
The lady didn’t wait for him to finish his sentence. ‘Oh no, I don’t mind that at all! Now do you want to know how to get to a place that sells tea? I’m actually heading there right now!’
We let her take us to the supermarket. We let her show us, excitedly, where the tea was. We both bought loads.
This is beautiful
My favorite method of learning pronunciation in another language is singing.
I spent the hours I travel on the bus singing reggaeton and have almost no accent when speaking Spanish.
Bollywood soundtracks helped me master the ड़ sound.
One of my students struggled with the English w sound and I had him sing the song “I Want It That Way” and he can say it almost perfectly.
Sing. Even if you suck. Sing.
Seriously, my pronunciation for French and Danish improved so much just by listening to their versions of Disney songs. Singing is an invaluable language resource!
True story!! This works! I blast Finnish music all day and learn the songs and it helps SO MUCH!
When people remark that I speak Swedish with almost no accent, I tell them that it’s because I sing so much. I’ve learned so much about pronunciation by singing in different languages, so this is is 100% A+ good advice.
Reminder that Net Neutrality is being repealed on April 23rd, but also
• There’s only 1 vote needed to override this decision, keep calling congress and your senators!
• Many states are introducing bills that would prevent the rollback from affecting them, but we need to make sure all of the USA isn’t affected
• What the FCC is doing is illegal
Keep fighting and don’t give up yet!

I do like jazz and tbh I’m disappointed that the rest of this ask had nothing to do with jazz.
Allies & S/O Seeing Snow
Warnings: None, Just Fluff
America: Alfred usually spends the winter in the northern states of his country because there’s nothing quite like winter in a snowy state. He stands next to you before realizing you were softly crying. Gently he wipes away your tears, kisses the top of your head and hands you a cup of tea while watching the snow fall outside the window.
England: Arthur has become accustomed to the rain in London at this point. So when it started to snow he paused to watch it before your sniffle broke his attention. He’s concerned until he hears your reason for crying and then he laughs softly. He leads you to a quaint café and you sit and watch the snow fall on the city roads.
France: Francis stays in his city apartment most of the year, because Paris is still as pretty in the winter. But if he knew you never seen snow before he would take you up to his villa in the northern part of France. The snow would look like something out of a Hallmark movie and Francis would gladly treat you like you were in one, gently kissing away your tears.
China: Yao is so ecstatic to show off the snow to you. He takes you to the Himalayas and takes in all their beauty with you. It’s extremely cold though so he makes sure you’re both cuddled up on coats and blankets. He makes his best hot dishes for you two to eat and it’s such a sweet trip for you two.
Russia: Ivan is so used to snow he often forgets some people haven’t seen it. When you start crying he’s so concerned but when you explain that it’s because the snow is so beautiful his heart swells. He’s so in love with the way you watch the snow, good lord he’s so in love with you.
Canada: Matthew, like Ivan, is used to the snow. He stays cuddled up in his mountain cabin and he’d be lying if he said he didn’t love the idea of you staying with him. So having you there was a dream come true. But when you started crying he was so worried! Poor baby thought he did something wrong but when he found out you never seen snow before he was ecstatic! He was so excited to show you how to ski and build a snowman and throw snowballs!!
concept: we’re both in our softest pajamas. your arms are around me and our legs are intertwined. you kiss the back of neck and tell me you won’t ever let me go.
